Payments & Refunds
How payments for membership and events work, and what happens if something changes.
Last updated 13 October 2026.
Who you are paying
Payments on this website go to the West Australian Society of Magicians (Incorporated), ABN 60 178 698 973, a volunteer-run club in Perth, Western Australia. All prices are in Australian dollars.
How you can pay
- By card through Stripe, on Stripe's own secure page.
- By PayPal, on PayPal's own page.
- At the door (cash or card), for events where the committee offers it.
Your card details go to Stripe or PayPal and never reach this website. A payment counts once Stripe or PayPal confirms it to us, and you will see a confirmation page.
Membership
Membership is earned through the Society's joining process (see Join WASM). The membership fee includes any joining fee; existing members renew each year. Membership fees are not normally refunded once your membership has started.
Event tickets
- If you can no longer come, email us before the event and we will refund your ticket.
- If the Society cancels or postpones an event, we will refund every ticket paid online in full.
- Some events give non-members a credit towards joining the Society. If that ticket is refunded, the credit no longer applies.
Mistakes and double payments
If you are charged twice for the same thing, or pay the wrong amount, tell us and we will refund the difference in full. We also check for duplicate payments ourselves.
How refunds are made
Refunds go back to the card or PayPal account you paid with, through Stripe or PayPal. How long they take to appear depends on your bank. Payments made in cash at the door are refunded in person or by bank transfer.
Asking for a refund
Email info@wasm.com.au with your name, what you paid for, and the date you paid. Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank: the committee are volunteers, but we will sort it out.
