Our Meetings
WASM convenes regularly in Perth, with the focus firmly on performing, sharing, and learning every aspect of our craft.
Regular Closed Meeting
Meetings are held second Tuesday monthly, 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. These meetings are only open to magicians who are either club members or vetted guests. Expect member performances, informal practice (‘jam sessions’), feedback sessions for those developing new material, and workshops.
Occasional meetings feature visiting magicians from interstate or overseas, lecturers, or special themes and events.
Public Open Meeting
Open meetings alternate with the closed ones. On an open night the committee opens a meeting to non-magicians, and members bring a friend or family member with no magic background along for an evening of performances from a line-up of our members, and good company.
It is also the easiest way for an interested magician to see what WASM is about before ever thinking about auditioning.
Before You Come Along
Do I need to book?
For a regular meeting, yes: contact the committee first and they will arrange your visit. Public open meetings need no arrangement.
What time?
Second Tuesday monthly, 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start.
Will I have to perform?
No. There is no cost and no pressure to perform when you visit as a guest.

Magicians of Every Stripe
Amateur or professional, local or visiting — if magic is an art you take seriously, we would like to meet you. Regular meetings are closed, so get in touch before your first one and the committee will arrange it. Our open meetings, which alternate with the closed ones, are the exception: anyone can come to those.
